  • intermediate to advanced divers
  • 50 feet max depth
  • diving in summer, spring & fall — mornings are better
  • hazards: winter high surf makes entry difficult, walk down is rough
  • no site facilities

DIRECTIONS: Coming from Kahului toward Hana, travel 8.4 miles after the intersection of Hana Hwy. and Haleakala Hwy. #37. Turn to the ocean 50 feet east of the Haiku community center. Drive down the pineapple road to the lighthouse and edge of the cliff.

Maliko Bay - Haiku

  • scuba
  • plenty of fish & colorful reef
  • intermediate to advanced divers (intermediate to the right, advanced to the left)
  • wear a wetsuit
  • 70 feet max depth
  • diving in summer, spring & fall — mornings are better
  • hazards: winter high surf makes entry difficult; the walk down to the left side is challenging
  • no site facilities

DIRECTIONS: Right Side: Coming from Kahului toward Hana, travel 6.8 miles after the intersection of Hana Hwy. and Haleakala Hwy. #37. Turn right here and loop around under the highway. Park, but not in the way of the boat ramp. To get to the left side for advanced diving, look for a small turn out just before you make your way to the bottom of Maliko Gulch. Park and look for the trail to the right.
