DIRECTIONS: Drive North on Honoapiilani Hwy. 30. past Lahaina to Kapalua. The beach is located just short of two and a half miles past the entrance to the Kapalua Bay Resorts. The entrance is six tenths of a mile past the 32 mile marker on the left. Park on the road and walk down the trail to the rock beach.

DIRECTIONS: Drive north of Lahaina Town on Honoapiilani Highway 30 to Kapalua. The beach fronts the Kapalua Bay Hotel. The parking area is on the southern end of the beach.
Kahikili/Airport Beach – Kaanapali

DIRECTIONS: Drive north of Lahaina Town on Honoapiilani Highway 30 about two mile outside of Lahaina Town, past Kaanapali, turn left on Kai Ala. Follow the “beach access” signs to the right.
Kahakuloa Bay – Kahakuloa

- advanced diver
- wear a wetsuit
- 70 feet max depth at location
- difficult climb down entry
- diving in summer, spring & fall — mornings are better
- great beginner spot

DIRECTIONS: Coming from Wailuku, turn onto a small turnout at the 15.7 mile mark. Walk down the “trail” to the ocean.
Mokolea Point – West Maui Backside
- scuba — head out forward, circle left
- colorful reef & plenty of fish, rocks
- one of the island’s best spots
- advanced divers

- 110 feet max depth at location
- diving in summer, spring & fall — mornings are better
- hazards: winter high surf makes entry impossible
- no facilities
- advice: place something highly visible on a rock near the cove as it can be difficult to see the entry cove after resurfacing
DIRECTIONS: Coming from Wailuku, turn right on a dirt road at the 16.2 mile mark — right before a concrete dip in the road. Drive in and park. Walk down the trail to the protected cove on the left.
Nakalele Point – West Maui Backside

- hazards: winter surf is too rough and entry is a rough walk down

- advice: dive to 80 feet to conserve air and follow the wall until your air is half gone, then start back at a different depth for different sights.
DIRECTIONS: Drive North on Honoapiilani Hwy. 30. past Lahaina and Kapalua. It is at the 38 mile marker. Turn left at the Nakalele Point Light Station sign. Park as close to the lighthouse as your car will allow you. Walk your way in. |
Makuleia “Slaughter House” Bay – Kapalua

DIRECTIONS: Drive on Honoapiilani Hwy. 30. past Lahaina, Kaanapali, to Napili. Take a left at the light on Napilihou St. Drive to the bottom and take a right on Lower Honoapiilani Highway. Continue north to Hui St., turn left and you will see the public access
Black Rock – Kaanapali
